The most dangerous mold strains are: Chaetomium (pronounced Kay-toe-MEE-yum) and Stachybotrys chartarum (pronounced Stack-ee-BOT-ris Shar-TAR-um) as they have been proven to produce demylenating mycotoxins among others, meaning they can lead to autoimmune disease. Under certain growth and environmental conditions, both of these fungi release toxic, microscopic spores and several types of mycotoxins that can cause the worst symptoms which are usually irreversible such as neurological and immunological damage. Chaetomium starts out white in color and then turns into a gray or olive green color. Stachybotrys starts out dark green in color turning into black mold. I don't believe preservatives will help in changing the type of mold. I would also add that Aspergillus and Penicillum molds can also be dangerous. Aspergillis can be infectious and Penicillum molds can be highly allergenic to those with mold sensitivities. Preservatives cannot change the species, only help prevent the onset of growth, though eventually mold always wins.

Safely Removing Mold From Indoor Surfaces?
Mold growing on indoor surfaces is unsightly, and in some cases, it may be a health hazard. Mold often grows in areas that stay damp, such as bathroom walls, floors or furnishings. If you have large amounts of mold, you may want to call a specialist to remove it. In most cases, however, you can take care of the problem yourself. Mold is a living organism, so it's important to kill the spores that grow new mold in addition to removing visible signs of mold. You can do this with bleach. Mix a solution of one cup bleach to one gallon of water. Make sure to avoid breathing the fumes. Open windows for ventilation and consider wearing a mask or safety goggles. Never mix bleach with ammonia, as that creates hazardous fumes. Use a spray bottle to spray the bleach solution on all areas where you've seen mold, then scrub the surfaces. You may want to repeat the procedure to make sure you've killed all the mold spores. This should take care of mold on hard surfaces. If you have mold on porous surfaces, such as carpet, you'll probably have to throw them away. Once you've cleaned the mold, keep it from coming back by working to decrease moisture in the area. Consider installing fans for ventilation. Fix any leaks that may have contributed to the problem. Clean up puddles as soon as possible. Most molds are harmless, though even harmless mold may increase symptoms in people with allergies or asthma. Stachybotrys, commonly known as black mold, is not harmless.
