Dark colors are best for winter, except for white, which goes well for any season. If you choose white, you will want to wear black shoes. Try dark purple, navy blue, black, grey, silver etc. DO NOT wear yellow, orange, red or green. Teal is acceptable for winter formals but not usually worn. Again, try to stick with DARK colors.
Even though it's called Winter Formal....you can wear any kind of dress you want. :) Normally at our school the girls wear short dresses to formal and short & long dresses to Prom. I'm wearing a short blue strapless for my upcoming formal. :) Your dress will work, trust me. :)
