Tights work with boots too, or athletic shoes if you are wearing an exercise outfit. Tights do not work with "dress" clothes so a dress shoe of any color is going to be wrong. But DON'T wear a bright lighter colored shoe with a "black leg" -ever. I've been in fashion business all my life and in general you don't want a dark leg with a light or bright shoe. It's like wearing dark pantyhose with white shoes- or a black bra under a light or white top.... WRONG!
