Normally black and white, but you can mix a medley of colors that are usually cool in color. ;)
Black and white are used to create the color grey. Mixing equal parts of black and white will give you a neutral grey tone.
Green and grey mixed together makes a very muddy green. Most artists would not choose to mix these colors together.
Grey is the most used, black second, and then the bright colors.
Complementary colors are colors that make one another look good. For example, red looks good with green. When used together, they create a better piece of art. On the other hand, orange and blue are non-complementary colors. If they are used together, they do not look as good as the complementary colors.
When two complementary colors are mixed together, they create a neutral color (such as gray or brown) depending on the proportions of each color used. This is because complementary colors cancel each other out and when mixed, they result in a desaturated color.
Primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. They cannot be made by mixing other colors together. These colors are used as the foundation for creating all other colors in the color wheel.
Red mixed with grey makes gray-red, or a bronze pink color.
Brown and grey combined typically create a muted, earthy tone with variations depending on the specific shades used.
The two colors that make up purple are red and blue. By mixing these colors together, you can create different shades of purple depending on the ratio of each color used.
No colors can make primary colors. There are two sets of primary colors for mixing different kinds of color. For mixing colored lights together, the primary colors are red, green, and blue. For mixing colored pigments or dyes together, the primary colors are magenta, yellow, and cyan (turquoise). Each of these sets of primary colors are the secondary colors of the other mixing system. The primary colors are: red, yellow, and blue. These were the colors the art masters of old used, and are still used today for mixing paint.
Grey is a neutral colour and can be used in combination with any and all colours.
The Pilgrims were a very stern religious group and they dressed ultra conservatively. Their common colors were black and grey with white (or an off white). This white was used for men's "linen" which was the collar and stockings and the women used white for their caps and aprons. They did have other colors, but they were all darkish and muted shades. Grey and black were the main ones.
