I think the only way is to add water,I don't believe adding yellow would be the answer

AnswerAdding yellow would turn cyan to green and magenta to red. My printer uses "light magenta" and "light cyan" inks which use different pigments than the full-strength magenta and cyan, maybe you could add some of those to your cartridge when you refill it.

How does a printer make red?

it usually has cyan (light blue), magenta(light red), yellow, and black. I guess they would mix magenta with black to make it into a certain shade of red

How do you make the color magenta with paint?

To make the color magenta with paint you must mix dark red and a little light blue adjust the ratio of the colors to get what you are looking for.

Which 2 primary colours make magenta light?

No combination of the three primary colors alone will make magenta. To make magenta, mix two parts red to one part blue to make red-violet. Then, add white to make it lighter (known as tinting).

What three colors make black?

magenta+cyan+yellow=blackA little more:In subtractive coloration or pigments, combining magenta, cyan and yellow should make black. In additive colors or light, turning the red, green and blue values to zero makes for black -- an absence of light.

What colors make magenta and cyan?

blue.

What secondary colors make white?

With light, the primary colors are red, green and blue, which makes the secondary colors cyan (green + blue), magenta (red + blue) and yellow (green + red).In theory, if you combine all three secondary colors at equal intensity, you will achieve a white light. However, your printer (which uses the same three colors) will merge them together to achieve black instead. This is because white is an additive color with light and a subtractive color with paint (including printer ink), while black is the opposite.

What are the three subtractive primary colors?

The three subtractive primary colors are cyan, magenta and yellow. These colors can be combined to make any other color. Mixing the primary colorants absorbs or subtracts wavelengths from filtered or reflected light leaving the eye to perceive only the reflected wavelengths which our eye and brain transform into visual colors.

What colors mixed make red?

It can't be done, because red is at one extreme end of the visible spectrum.AnswerRed is a primary color (like blue and yellow) and therefore, there is no combination of colors that will produce it.Wrong. My color printer for my computer mixes magenta and yellow to make red.Red is no longer a primary color for pigments. Neither is blue. You are using obsolete color theory that was used before the colors magenta and cyan were available. The correct primaries are magenta, yellow, and cyan.

What colors make magenta?

Magenta is a primary color; you can't mix other colors together to create it. The three true primary colors are: Magenta Cyan Yellow These correspond to the old color wheel designations of Red, Blue and Yellow.

What are the color on the color wheel?

To make all colors in pigment the 3 primaries must be transparent. Transparent yellow is ASTM number PY150 made from the nickel element. Transparent magenta is PR122, C20H12N2O2. Transparent yellow and transparent magenta mix into the secondary pigment color red. The 3rd transparent primary pigment color is cyan, made from the copper element, PB15. Transparent yellow and transparent cyan make the secondary color green. Transparent cyan mixed with the the transparent magenta color make the secondary color ultramarine blue. Yellow, magenta and cyan are the primary pigment colors, red, green and blue are the secondary pigment colors. Light uses the opposite colors, the secondary pigment colors become the primary light colors. Red, yellow and blue are not the primary colors in pigment or in light. Those colors came from Newton in 1600 and they are just the most obvious colors in the prism and rainbow. RCW

Why are are red yellow blue the piramry colors?

Strictly speaking, the primary colours for paint, ink, etc are yellow, magenta (not red) and cyan (not blue), as you will see if you lok at a computer printer. If you are mixing beams of light, then red, blue, and green would make white light, as happens in a TV or computer monitor.
