Litmus turns red when exposed to an acidic solution.
Litmus is red in acid and blue in alkali.
Assuming you're using Universal Indicator, you'd get a dark red, as it is pH 1. Battery Acid is Strong stuff.
For example, for the Merck strips (code 9565): up to blue.
It turns blue litmus paper red.
RED
Blue litmus turns red in the presence of an acid. The opposite is correct in case of a base ie in presence of a base, red litmus turns blue in colour.
Blue litmus paper turns red under acidic conditions and red litmus paper turns blue under acidic conditions.
Zinc would have no effect on litmus paper. It is affected by solutions of acids and alkalis. I wonder if you have some acid and you are adding the zinc to that? If so, eventually, if there is enough zinc, the acid will be neutralized so instead of being pink with the acid, the litmus will go a purplish colour.
If the vinegar is strong enough to be below 4.5 pH the litmus paper will turn (or stay) red.
Color of litmus will change.Red litmus will change into blue.

Litmus paper usually turns either blue or pink (sometimes red) which indicates whether the chemical is an acid or a base. If the paper turns blue it is a base. If pink or red it is an acid.
Red
HCl (hydrochloric acid) is an acid so it will turn litmus paper red. and alkali will go from red litmus to blue.
