What are the key primary colors?

In Art, the primary colours are; blue, yellow and red. These three colours are primary because they mix in together to make another certain colour, for example, blue mixed with yellow makes green. No because blue is a primary colour which you can't make by mixing other colours together. By mixing yellow and green together you would make a lighter, brighter shade of green.
