Any... it depends on the parents' genes, not their coat colors. For example, two black labs could easily produce a litter that includes all three coats of black, chocolate, and yellow. Perhaps we could expect more black puppies than the other, as black is the main gene for each parent.
Any litter of two purebred Labs can result in Labs of any of the three possible colors (black, yellow, chocolate); the term "golden" is not properly used of Labrador retrievers ("yellow" is the normal term).
I disagree. We have had 2 litters with a yellow lab and a chocolate lab and both litters have been all black.
Based on the fact you are asking this, I'm going to give the usual disclaimer of PLEASE DON'T BE A BACKYARD BREEDER. There are plenty of purebred, yes, purebred dogs being euthanized every day due to overpopulation. Almost half of all euthanized animals in the US are suspected to be purebred actually.
That said, breeding a chocolate and a black would give you yellow and black puppies, with a very, very slight possibility of a chocolate. Chocolate is a recessive gene, and is typically obtained by breeding a yellow and a black Labrador.
On the other hand, breeding a chocolate and a yellow will give you some very interesting results. They are called "dudleys". A yellow Labrador with little to no black pigmentation, so a pink nose, pink around the eyes, etc. Not exactly a show quality dog, eh?
a chocolate lab is brown. Because chocolate is brown!
Well it can be found in various colors like in yellowish brown, chocolate, black They can be black, yellow or chocolate.
Yes, they are all brown. they have different shades of brown,
that are from a light brown, to a dark rich chocolate color.
and of course there is Yellow, and Black labradors.
They will also have brown colored chcolate labs.
rainbow LOL
Yes, Chocolate labs are born brown as are yellow and black labs.
Labrador Retrievers (Yellow Labs, Black Labs, Brown/Chocolate Labs)
yes my yellow lab has a mom that's a black lab and a dads that's yellow and they had black, yellow and Brown labs so you will get a mix NO. Two chocolate labs will ALWAYS have chocolate labs. Chocolates are double recessive which means they only carry the recessive chocolate Gene.
Brownie, Coco, and Chip (chocolate Chip) how about 'Mousse'?
It doesn't matter if it is chocolate or if it is normal it matters how you raise it if you raise it to be nice to children. BTW (by the way) by chocolate do you mean it is brown?
No, chocolate lab's noses are not typically considered red. Chocolate labs usually have brown noses, while black or yellow labs have black noses. However, when their genetics are mixed it can result in different color noses.
Brown Labs are known as Chocolate Labs and they are just like any other Labrador Retriever. Most dogs are usually smart, strong, strong willed, energetic, happy, excitable, and love people and other animals, especially kids most of the time!!
Chocolate labs are the breed itself. If you wanted a smaller dog, you would want a female dog because they tend to be smaller. However, almost all chocolate labs are male. To get a smaller dog I would go with a black lab or a yellow lab.
it is possible that a small fraction of the puppies will be chocolate or yellow labs.
well to be honest all labs are the same it doesent matter if there chocolate or black or golden labs and yes ofcourse they can eat cuccombers!
Labs can have black, yellow and chocolate puppies all in the same litter. They carry the genes to produce colors other than the color they are.
No..?
