Probably gray, but upon the birth of space-time, it would have turned iridescent likely, same as an opal. Iridescence is a homogenous mixture of the rainbow, grayscale and clear/opaque/reflective spectra. If all the possible states of existence occupied the same space, they, as opposites would continue to cancel each other out. If space had expanded to let them differentiate out, the resulting gray nothingness would instead turn iridescent from the burst of potential to exist within that instant.

The idea of "was" as past tense is meaningless at a singularity. There can be no "before" because time itself loses meaning.
