Most Spanish language courses like Rosetta Stone are just Spanish flashcards on steroids so they don't actually help you learn to Speak Spanish. Rosetta stone is a big corporation trying to maximize profits so they want you to continually purchase their software for many years. It's in their best interest to keep you coming back and never actually learning to speak spanish because once you do, you'll no longer buy their product.
There's a course I've heard good things about called eSpanishTeacher.com. It's not as 'corporate' feeling as rosetta stone, but a friend says it's really helped.
