The 'D' is an older version of 'da' (the SI standard) and means "Deca" or 10 so 1 Dkm = 1 dakm = 10 km

A deca is equal to 10 units for every 1,000 kilo units. Therefore, a kilo is 100 times a deca. Hope that helps!
