This is an excellent question which is specific to the terms of agreement that you signed with the company you used for your home warranty. Basically some do provide separate clauses about needing to be at the house for the warranty to be valid while others do not. My best advice would be to find your agreement and read through it very carefully.
Corbi Heating & Cooling Inc. in Chester, PA, serving the Philadelphia area, would be the best home warranty company. They offer Home Warranty as well as Heating and Cooling Installations and Repair.

Most often the best deal you will find on a home warrenty will be with your exsisting home insurance company. They often will offer you the best rate for having both.
There are several way to get home warranty. The best way is through your insurance company as they will often give you a discount for carrying both insurance and warrenty.
The most popular company to purchase home warranty insurance is American Home Shield. One can purchase home warranty insurance from this company, and a few others.
I am a Colonial Home Warranty customer and am currently under a 3-year contract. (I am in no way affiliated with any home warranty companies and am just an average homeowner with my only "agenda" being that I would like fairness and professionalism from the companies with which I do business. Having said that, I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with Colonial's customer service. I have finally given in to their completely unreasonable "Buyout" offer in lieu of repair or replacement of my dishwasher because I can see that there is absolutely zero chance of reasoning, let alone even speaking, with anyone on any "management" level to discuss the merits of my appeal. My appeal letters have been ignored, my emails have also been ignored, my phone calls have not been returned, and I have been told that there are no supervisors available to speak with as "they are all very busy" and there is nothing more that can be done for me. Colonial chose to take the cheapest way out when a repair was possible for a reasonable cost. The company will hide behind the fine print in your contract and bank on the fact that you probably will not actually ever choose to arbitrate their poor customer service since the cost to you to do so would be too high. DO NOT conduct business with this company. My previous home warranty was with American Home Shield. It expired, so I went with Colonial after being bribed by their slick salesman on the phone, however I will not be renewing my Colonial contract (American Home Shield has much better customer service.) I urge you to NOT conduct business with Colonial Home Warranty Company.
It is always best to be prepared for what may happen as that's how you save money and protect yourself. A home warranty would help you protect yourself and help with whatever damage may occur to your home. You can check your local Yellow Pages for a home warranty service or try www.ahs.com. They have good home warranties.
Ive always heard great things about colonial home warranty, first american and Fidelity National Home Warranty so try them out and maybe they will work for you
