The group 1 metals are more reactive and so more electropositive,they all react with water but in different forms e.g sodium will react spontaneously with water,iron with steam,copper do not react under normal conditions because it cannot displace hydrogen,Group 1 cannot form complexes which is readily shared as a properties in all transition element,trans. element tend to have a very high melting point due to a very strong metallic bonds in the compounds.Group 1 element compounds are more stable to heat other than transition element.
