Apple Computer
An iMac is a computer, but a computer is not necessarily an iMac, so they are not the same thing.
Apple computer, Apple I-pod, Apple I-phone
There is no 24" iMac. Apple sells a 21.5" and a 27". The fastest 21.5" sells for $1,699. The fastest 27" sells for $2,199. But the 21'5" iMac selling for $1,199 is all the computer the average user will ever need. I have one and it is blazing fast. Faster than any Windows PC I ever owned.
Brand new with free shipping at the Apple Store online it sells for $1199. If you are a student or government worker you can get a discount. The iMac sells for the same price no matter where you buy it. I recommend you buy from the Apple store online.

A 20 inch iMac from the company Apple, can be purchased for the prices ranging from $1279 to $2405 from a variety of different suppliers of the computer.
From another post elsewhere..."As announced for the very first iMac that came out in 98', the "i" stood for "Internet, Individual, Instruct, Inform, and Inspire".And another:"The original imac, released in 1998, was marketed around the concept that it was the easiest computer to connect to the internet. in '98, the internet was still something that most people didn't use regularly, and so the idea of a computer that was "internet ready" was hip and new. The i stood for internet, but it also stood for "I" as in "me". The imac was designed to make the personal computer feel more personal, and make the user feel like the computer was working for them, not against them." It also meant intelligent so that is why imac, ipod ,ipad, iphone stand for intelligentpad, intelligenphone, and so on.
Apple no longer sells a 20" iMac. They sell a 21.5" and 27" iMac. Both come in aluminum.
