trojan
a virus that destroys the hard drive also know as the (d:) is syphillis
No known viruses destroy data, though many block it.
You may have to accept that the data on your hard drive may be lost. The damage from the virus may NOT be repairable. Everything I've read about this virus indicates that it destroys data. You CAN boot from your operating system CD ROM and see if you can save data from the drive before you reformat it - I also read something about booting from the Norton Antivirus CD to eliminate the virus - I'd try this first. Bottom line is that you have run into a NASTY virus that has probably killed your poor pc.
A virus can affect a computer in many ways. From simply freezing the screen - to writing vast amounts of gibberish data to the hard drive, filling it up.
yes and no but yes if you want to have that data but you will have that virus on your computer
Yes, but you could also format (delete all the data) the old hard drive to get rid of a virus.
Yes formatting does removes virus from you computer but it will also delete all your data stored in the C drive . And provided the virus hasnt infected other drives . Download Avast , Kyspersky or Norten (Anti Viruses)
Computer viruses only affect the memory of your computer. Say you get a virus and your computer will not let you open programs. You would need to get a new hard drive or wipe all data from the hard drive, and then reinstall programs.
it depends on the type. Virus can steal data, corrupt data, and modify data without your permission
definition of a computer virus definition of a computer virus
Computer viruses can be enormously damaging to the computer and to the data in the computer. They are far from harmless.
An overwrite virus is a type of virus that replaces or overwrites data on a computer system with its own malicious code, rendering the original data unusable. These viruses can cause data loss or corruption, and are designed to hide their presence and avoid detection by antivirus programs.
