∙ 14y agoThe Russo-Japanese war was precipitated by some conflict over so-called Treaty Ports such as Port Arthur= under siege- men-to-arms- it blew up into largely a Naval war with some mixed- Naval-Ground actions such as the Siege of Port Arthur- not the one in Texas, which is an oil-refining center.

∙ 13y agoThey had a conflict over Korea and Manchuria, each wanted control over it. Russia declared war on Japan after the Japanese attacked and successfully destroyed Russian warships.
