The Iguazu Falls waterfall system consists of 275 falls along 2.7 kilometers (1.67 miles) of the Iguazu River. Position is at latitude : 25° 40' 60 S, longitude : 54° 25' 60 W . Some of the individual falls are up to 82 meters (269 ft) in height, though the majority are about 64 metres (210 ft).
Iguazu, Argentina is a city located in the Misiones province of Argentina. The city’s economy is built around tourism, and specifically tourism to the Iguazu Falls. The Iguazu Falls are a spectacular waterfall system on the Iguazu River between the Brazilian and Argentin border. The Iguazu Falls have been compared to other great waterfalls, including both Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls. Iguazu is located about 10 km from Iguazu Falls, and has a plethora of hotels and tourist infrastructure to support tourism to the area. The Iguazu Falls are located in the Iguazu National Park, one of the great national parks in South America. The park features a number of exciting fauna, including the anteater, jaguar, and ocelot. The Iguazu National Park and Falls were named a World Heritage Site in 1984. The area around Iguazu is typified by rainforest, and is classifed as a subtropical Humid Climate. Iguazu receives at least 4 inches of rain a month, with the month of November receiving on average almost 8 inches a month.

Incidentally, the name Iguazu means "great waters."
