There are a couple of glands in the lips of your pudendum called Bartholin glands. They are there to assist with providing lubrication. Sometimes they can get blocked (like a pimple) causing pain, especially during intercourse.
There are other causes of vaginal pain, like thrush or cystitis. Go and see your doctor (or if you are embarrassed) your local sexual health clinic. Don't worry, the doctors and nurses have seen it all before and will be able to diagnose any issue quickly!
