I have one such bump or liquid-filled lump. My doctor told me it was a benign cyst and assured me it was not cancerous. If I am overtired, it seems to be a bit bigger and firmer. However, other than the purple-ish discoloration which can be seen if I get my hair cut too short, it has not bothered me. Even if this lump isn't cancerous (thank heavens) then your doctor should have it removed and a pathology tests done to confirm for sure it's nothing but a cyst and not cancerous. All lumps on the body should be taken seriously. I am surprised the doctor hasn't suggested that this cyst be removed as it must be bothersome.
