More than likely the alternator is defective. Have the charging system checked at your local auto parts store.
Directly, no, but it's possible that the same root cause (something wrong with the electrical system) could make both warning lights come on.
you don't really know unless you get the vehicle tested...most likely it would be your battery or your brakes
Odds are the battery voltage is low. The alternator could be faulty or the belt could be loose or broken.
I had this same problem with my !995 Galant. It turned out to be the alternator.
Could be battery, battery connections, starter, starter connections, neutral safety switch. I would check those in that order.
-- battery -- battery cable -- connection between battery cable and battery A fault in any of these would still supply the small current used by the lights and radio, but not the huge battery current required for starting.
Your battery is dead and you should probably take it to the repair shop and have them put it in for you. Couldn't it be the starter motor? The lights and radio come on, so there must be some juice and the battery.
Try cleaning the battery connectors, and then apply die-electirc grease. Probably not making good contact. This could be two separate problems. Dash and interior lights can be a bad fuse. Second, if the starter cranks over with a new battery, check your electronic fuel pump, and or your kill switch.
Your alternator could be bad have it checked this could also be that the car is getting the wrong amount of volts from the battery, either too much or too less
I obviously means that there is something wrong with the alternator or battery. When both lights are on 80 percent of the time its the alternator. Either your belt fell off or your alternator went bad.
Do you mean What does it mean when the brake and battery lights come on in when it is already started? Check your alternator may be its not working well it cause the battery sign comes out.
no way.
