Its still a new car, heater core isn't necessarily blown. The main cause for no hot air would be dead coolant, do a rad flush and change your antifreeze.
It could also be the little metal lever under the dashboard on the passenger's side of the car. It it towards the left hand side, close to the center console, under the edge of the dashboard plastic. This is the lever that connects the knob on your dash to the mechanism that switches it to hot & cold. If this little lever gets kicked or hit with a bag thrown down there it is easily broken because it is exposed, the dashboard plastic doesn't cover it from below. You can feel around and move the circular disk below the dash that the lever was attached to and change it back and forth manually- to the left is cold, to the right is hot. I usually do it at a red light or something if I'm driving.

If the cable release is broken for the hood on a 2002 Kia Spectra, a person could crawl under the car and see if they can locate the broken part of the cable. If it is still attached to the hood, they could pull it to trip the hood latch. Otherwise, the car will have to be put on a hoist, and a long pole used to trip the hood latch.
