Your dog could be having a reaction to some of the chemicals that are used to sanitize or clean the pens that s/he was kept. A friend of mine who does taxidermy lets his cats near his work and they all have runny eyes with much mucous and they sneeze a lot due to the chemicals he uses. Your dog could be having an allergic reaction to something that it was exposed to like other pet dander. Try your best to keep it's eyes wiped clean in the corners and contact your vet for a possible antihistamine that can be given.
