If you currently have a high white blood cell count it could be because your body is fighting off an infection, systemic illness, allergy, and possibly leukemia. You normal white blood cell count should be about 4500 to 10000. Anything over that indicates your internal system is fighting something. What these cells do is surround the invader and destroy it.
