Well if your tounge stings when you eat, I am assuming you have a medical problem. But, let's say you were to eat a jalapeno or some other sort of strong sour food--your tongue naturally stings because of the tatse buds reacting to the strong chemicals or in some cases not strong chemicals or liquids, etc. found in the type of food your eating. I guess you could call these small stings of flavor, but not a strong sting like that of a bee to say.

If you had an allergy to something you could have swelling in the back of your throat, which makes it really hard to swallow. It really hurts and it could kill you from restricted breathing.
