What metaphase does nondisjunction occur in Metaphase 1 or metaphase 2?

Non-disjunction is the failure of a pair of chromosomes or chromatids to separate. Since this happens in both metaphase I and II, non-disjunction can occur in either stage. In metaphase I it is the failure of the two homologous chromosomes in the pair to separate. In this case all of the gametes will be affected. In metaphase II it is the failure of the two sister chromatids to separate. In this case only half of the gametes are affected.Non-disjunction is the cause of a number of genetic conditions eg Down syndrome, Triple-X syndrome.See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nondisjunction

Is meiosis the same as metaphase?

Idk but this site is stupid cause its slow and doesnt answer your questions?

If one arm of a chromatid crosses over the arm of another chromatid what results?

A DNA exchange called crossing over occurs, leading to genetic recombination between the chromatids. This increases genetic variability by mixing genetic material between homologous chromosomes during meiosis.

What would happen if the process of mitosis skipped telophase?

If Metaphase were skipped during the process of mitosis and Meiosis this would be very harmful for both stages because cell division would be hard to occur because Chromosomes are not lined up down the middle and the Spindle fibers can not prepare itself for cell division. In Meiosis this would be hard to create gametes because in metaphase one homologous chromosomes assort at random at the middle and this could not happen if there was no metaphase 1. It would be hard for diploid cells to then be reduced to 4 haploid cells. With out metaphase a non-disjunction could occur where Chromosomes do not separate properly and result in a Trisomy. Which could cause more diseases in our gene pool.

When chromosomes cause their poleward movement this phase begins?

The phase is called anaphase. In anaphase, the sister chromatids are separated and pulled to opposite poles of the cell by the spindle fibers attached to the centromeres. This marks the stage where the genetic material (DNA) is divided equally between the two daughter cells.

Would sharing a room cause you not to get along with your sister?

It could cause you not to get along with your sister. If you are having disagreements over the room, maybe talking to your sister about solutions would solve the problem. It could be that sharing the room is not the problem, but you and your sister are so different that you do not get along.
