If your car is still running, IMMEDIATELY drain the fluid from your transmission and change the filter. Then refill it with proper fluid. Hopefully you only topped up your tranny with it so there is still proper fluid in there and this might have saved you.
my transmission is not shifting on my 2005 Ford Taurus what could be the problem
It could be that the transmission cooler in the radiator is plugged.
The idle for the 97 Taurus could be too low. The transmission bands could be sticking some as well, not allowing the transmission to come out of gear during idling.
Unfortunately, no. The 1991 Taurus / Sable had a one-of-a-kind transmission. They are only intertchangable with the same year and car family. There are some early 1992 cars that have the same transmission as the 1991. A transmission shop could give you more information.
No its just for fake but it could happin-vicki
That is the cheapest repair solution to try.
There could be two reasons for this. The first is the transmission is completely out and the second is the linkage in the transmission is broken.
On a 2002 Ford Taurus : You could have the gear shift lever up by the steering wheel or by the floor console for your automatic transmission And , if you mean the automatic transaxle ( transmission ) fluid level dipstick , it is near the firewall between the engine and the brake fluid reservoir in the engine compartment
There could be several things wrong with the 2006 Taurus. The car may need transmission fluid or even a new transmission.
if you get dirt in a transmission while drive 1000 miles you could ruin it. no question about it...
if the cat ate a rabid mouse you could get rabies ,but 9 times out of 10 it will just hurt.
i have transmission problems it works good in revers but in drive gears dont change at all could it be the vacumm hose and where is it at
