Your question contains a double negative. I am sure you meant that the Homunculus theory, couldn't explain stages of development. In Psych 101, late 70s, we ridiculed the Homunculus theory for not taking into account stages of development. Like Piaget or Erikson.

I think it is sad that now if a 3 year old doesn't have an adult attention span, we put him on Ritalin. Guess the Homunculus theory has returned.
