The Zambezi River is the fourth longest in Africa. It flows through Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique and the Congo.

The two main rivers that run through the Kalahari Desert are the Okavango River and the Zambezi River. The Okavango River flows into the Okavango Delta, creating a unique inland delta ecosystem. The Zambezi River, while primarily associated with neighboring regions, also influences the Kalahari's landscape, especially in areas near its northern boundary. Both rivers are vital for sustaining the diverse wildlife and plant life in the Kalahari.
