There is a village in Germany named Rauba. Also, if you research the etymology for the English word "robe" it traces to Latin "rauba" which is listed as being a German word referring to stolen goods (especially clothes). There is also mention of a Rauba as a sur name for a family of Visigoths, and so it is presumed that the word has similar origins as vandal (another germanic tribe). More than you wanted to know eh?

The name Rauba does not appear to be tied to any specific country. It could be a unique or rare name with no specific origin or cultural association.
