Britain used rockets (Congreve Rockets) during the Napoleonic wars and the War of 1812. Not exactly V2's falling on London but still rockets
There were rockets in earlier tmes, Chinese I think but I can't give any dates
Nope. I don't think so. Long before the Germans started using them, the Chinese already started having a BLAST with them. lol.
The first to use 'rockets' to lift a payload away from the surface of the earth had to be the Medieval Chinese, who packed the newly-invented gunpowder into a small cylinder, and then used it to lift another package of gunpowder into the sky, where its colorful explosion could be seen and appreciated by many. This has to be considered a 'rocket', since its propulsion system didn't require air in order to burn and develop thrust. The potassium chloride in gunpowder supplies the oxygen required for its combustion, and fireworks ought to operate just fine in a vacuum.
Somewhere around the year 1100 AD. Gunpowder was packed into bamboo tubes, the ends sealed, and they would the thrown into a fire (and explode, as fireworks) If a tube was badly sealed at one end, when it ignited, it would shoot out of the fire- so the first rockets were badly made firecrackers. They were used in battle around 1247.

The earliest form of rockets can be traced back to 13th century China, when Taoist alchemists used black powder to propel projectiles. Rockets were being used by the Mongols and Genghis Khan in their battles in Russia and Eastern Europe by the mid-1240s.
Rockets were first used to help people in the form of transportation. The first manned rocket flight took place in 1961 when Yuri Gagarin orbited Earth in the Vostok 1 spacecraft. Since then, rockets have been used to carry astronauts and supplies to and from space stations like the International Space Station (ISS), facilitating human presence in space exploration and research. Rockets have also played a crucial role in launching satellites for communication, weather monitoring, and scientific research, benefiting people worldwide.
Yes, smoke grenades, marking rounds, rockets, and various forms of flame weapons were used in Vietnam (along with CS gas). But officially the US did not deploy chemical warfare in Vietnam. During the Viet era; US doctrine was: 1. Never to deploy biological weapons 2. Use chemical warfare only in self defense (meaning the other nation had to use it first) 3. Reserved the right of first strike with nuclear weapons

The second of Germany's Vengeance Weapons. The first Liquid Fuel Ballistic Missile to be used in war.
The Chinese were the first to use rockets, and they used them for fireworks displays. Military or space travel applications came much later.
Nazi germany was first to begin research into Nuclear weapons, but stopped and focused on rockets. Instead the US took the role afterwards.
