The Golan Heights and the Plateau of Tibet
A fracture in the Earth's crust (with associated transverse or strike slip movement - similar to the San Andreas fault) that runs through the north of the country of Turkey, separating Eurasian plate and the Anatolian plate. It is associated with modern earthquakes, the loci of which which are gradually moving westwards towards Istanbul.
What is the importance of the Anatolian Peninsula
The Anatolian leopard is a leopard subspecies that is native to southwestern Turkey. It preys on wild goat, deer, wild pig, mountain hare and grouse.
The Plateau of Tibet can also be called the Tibetan Plateau, Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, Qinzang Plateau, "Roof of the World" or "Third Pole of the Earth".

The Anatolian Plateau is located in the central part of Turkey, covering a large portion of the country. It is bordered by the Taurus Mountains to the south and the Pontic Mountains to the north. The plateau is characterized by its high elevation and flat terrain.
The Anatolian Plateau is a region of the Earth much like the Sahara Desert, or the British Isles. It is still called Anatolia. Turkey is the country in which Anatolia is found. Turkey is larger than the plateau by about 1/2.
