Although it may feel as though it is a headache on one side of the ear and head, it is more than likely an infection being caused from lymph nodes that are located just underneath both ears. Any time there is an infection, their swelling grows rapidly depending on the severity of the infection itself. It is best to consult a doctor before the infection gets much worse than its current state.

To get water out of your ear, you can twist your head from side to side. Then nod your head towards the floor and hit the opposite side of your head with the palm of your hand. The water will come out by force.
