What criminological theory can be applied to Ted Bundy?

I'm not sure about theory but Bundy was classified as an organized killer, the hardest type to apprehend. Organized serial killers usually have higher than average IQ's. Their crimes are well-planned and for the most part, flawlessly executed. Bundy was no exception. He had murder down to a fine art at which he excelled exceedingly.

Only his last murders were impulsive and a bit sloppy which is why he was finally caught. In the end though, Bundy outsmarted himself, acting as his own defense councel. You would think a former law student like Bundy would have known that a man that represents himself has a fool for a client. No doubt, Bundy's incredible ego got in the way of his high IQ.
