This isn't even a question, but to try an form some kind of answer I'll stats that no, FOOTBALL is not important on St. Patricks day and no football is played on that day in Ireland. Furthermore anyone that celebrates St. Patricks day is celebrating the desruction of the old Irish way of life and culture by the ruling higher classes of Europe at the time. Ireland today is basically a form of English culture bar a few things like folk music and attitude. That Irish dancing malarky is a load of nonesense and has nothing to do with the old Irish.
