Every part of life for a native American (not just Cherokee) was dictated by customs / rituals. I only know of a few of the old rituals, that were different from other tribes.

  1. When a child lost a tooth, it was thrown on top of the house and a song was sung.
  2. Green Corn festival / dance.

Maybe others can expand on this, as this is all I can think of at the moment.

Please limit responses to unique customs of the Cherokee, not customs shared between all tribes.
