What damaged when reverse polarity on a 1990 Chevy truck?

If you reverse polarity on the battery and the fuses are fine and the alternator check out ok why would an 81 Toyota pick-up wont stay on whithout having your foot on the gas pedal?

It depends on the condition of the truck. If its in good condition, like the seats and interior is intact, the engine works, and its not damaged maybe like 5,000 max. If the truck is damaged or it has trouble running id go with like 2,500. And if you want to sell it now, id go cheapish. People are buying used, and cheap cars that run. That's it.
