Northwest Territories is not a province.
Parts of the former North-western Territory, referred to in section 146 of the British North America Act (now the Constitution Act), became the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan on September 1, 1905. Other parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan were formerly in Rupert's Land.
Saskatchewan became a province in 1905, prior to that it was part of the North-West Territories.

There is no Canadian province to the west of the Yukon Territory. The landmass that is there is the state of Alaska and belongs to the USA.
Northwest Territories is the only province with a town with knife in the name. It is the only province with the Mackenzie river emptying into the Arctic ocean, and it is also the only province with the Great Bear lake.
That point is in the Yukon Territory, about 19 miles north of Whitehorse.
