It means the birth of Jesus Christ, our savior. Christmas day is a day for celebration of someone who died for us.
Jesus began to show us how He had suffered before the foundations of the world in the garden of ghetsemity.
Those who believe that Jesus died on the cross believe that He died to save us of our sins. Those who believe in Jesus, believe that through his death they can be reunited with their Heavenly Father one day.
We celebrate Ascension Day because that was the day Jesus walked out of that tomb to show us that our sins died with Him on the cross.
Jesus wanted us to take communion , to show that we believe Jesus died for us.
Jesus died for all of us
Passover fell on a Friday when Jesus died.
Jesus died on Good Friday.
Yes Jesus died on the cross for us to save us from our rightful sin punishment.
The Day of Preparation
Easter is the day Jesus rose from the dead. Good Friday was the day when he died on the cross for our sins.
If you believe as many do, that Jesus died on Passover, than Jesus died at the same time that the Passover Lamb was being killed in the temple. At 3:00 PM. So Jesus is our passover Lamb, the Feast of Passover was only a picture of what Jesus was going to do for us as Hebrew chapter 10 teaches us. There is some thought that Jesus died on Thrs. not Friday, But no matter what, it was the day of Passover. The mix up comes because the day after His dieth was the sabbath (Saturday). But the day after Passover is the day of Unleaven Bread. It is a high day, the same as a sabbath and is none as a sabbath. So that might be what is meant when the Bible says Sabbath.
