yes there is a bug off in animal crossing
To The Tortimer
You can't its not on but the fishing tourney is.
1. the next bug off is on June 20th this month, Good luck!
Assuming you are talking about the "Bug Off" bug-catching competiton in Animal Crossing, it occurs every 3rd Saturday of June, July, August, and September.
If you do not have a net or poll on the day of the bug off the mayor will give you a net and same on the Fish catching day
In the summer while the Bug-Off is on, catch a Birdwing butterfly to win easily. It usually comes at 12:00 to 3:00.

The bug off is not about points. It is about the length of the bug, if you get two flies they are both not the same length; each bug is unique. But I absolutely don't recommend putting a fly in a Bug Off. They are tiny; the largest bug (in average) is the Oak Silk Moth around the summer. So catch one of those and no one will beat you, they're the largest! I won with one of those numerous times! So go on, you are not going to win with that puny fly. -Jenae
