Grunnskole (mandatory) is 10 years. 7 years on barneskole and 3 years on ungdomsskole . At ungdomsskolen you get your first grades. When you are done with grunnskolen, you can move on with videregående (voluntary). Videregående is 2-3 years. Studiespesialiserende (general studies) is 3 years. Yrkesfag (vocational) is 2 years.

The schooldays are Monday to Friday. The times depends on which school one are in, but they usually start 08.20 in the morning and ends around two or three o'clock.
