Astrologically, Cancer is from about June 22nd until July 22nd.

The moon reaches it's zenith on July 7th, and from that period until the next new moon on July 22nd, the moon will be waning.

Sources disagree slightly on times, but are within hours of each other so I don't think it really makes that much of a difference, and are probably only due to location on the Earth.

I think that's what you asked in the question, ,

The Gibbous phases are the periods when the Moon is more than 50% illuminated. Waxing being the period when it is approaching Full, and Waning being the period after Full, but before 'Last Quarter'.
