For an IT support job, you have many options for which degree to pursue. You can obtain a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Interactive Media, or Software Engineering.

What degree do you *need*? NONE. IT support should never require a degree. Granted almost every single job I've seen, whether Tier 1, 2, or 3, even programmers, they all say they want a degree or equivalent experience. I've had several hiring managers tell me they don't care about a degree (then why is it on the job description?), they want experience. I have no degree. I picked up my first certification in late 2010. To get my first support job I only had personal experience and I kept trying for a job until someone hired me. Especially in the IT industry, a degree is such a waste of money. Really it is. I have worked at Microsoft on Tier 3 and been told they don't care about a degree, only experience. Please save your money. Study and learn on your own. Real world experience is far better than any class you take. You don't need a degree.
