There are three parts to Yosemite Falls. They are the lower, middle, and upper falls.
It is the tallest continuous fall waterfall in North America at 1,612 feet. However, because it is dependent on melting snow from the summit of El Capitan it is dry for most of the year.
Although topped in height by Hawaiian waterfalls, the tallest waterfalls in the mainland US are both impressively high. They are in Yosemite National Park, in California :Ribbon Falls (El Capitan peak) has a single drop of 1612 feet (491 m)Yosemite Falls has an upper falls of 1430 feet (436 meters) and a total three-fall height of 2425 feet (740 m).

I think many kids would like to do some easy hikes in Yosemite National Park. Some hikes I recommend are Bridalveil Falls (an easy 30 minute hike) and the Mist Trail to Vernal Fall, which is easily done if you take breaks.
The yosemitehikes website is a great place to view pictures and get information about Bridal Veil Falls. When you are on the site, scroll down and click on the Yosemite Valley link. This will bring you to a page about Yosemite Valley and will include links for all of the hiking trails. Scroll down and click on the Bridal Veil Fall link to view pictures, trail maps, and much more.
Yosemite is cold in the winter and spring, with snow until early spring. Summer and fall are warm in Yosemite and the waterfalls tend to run dry in the summer time.
Yosemite gets about 37 inches of rainfall each year. It should be noted that some of this may fall as snow.
