A router can be used to connect a LAN to the internet. A router works on the basis of an IP address. Every router has built-in operating system known as IOS. A router works on the network layer of the OS model and it routes the data towards the optimal path. Router uses the header information of the packets and forwarding table to define the best shortest possible path of the data.

You have installed a device that has two IP addresses. One address, 64.51.216.27, is displayed to the Internet. The other address, 192.168.50.254, communicates with the LAN. What type of technology have you implemented?

Any device on a LAN is called a node.
Node. A node describes any device that connects to the network.
If you mean, "What is a wireless LAN?" The answer is simple. A wireless LAN is a network that connects multiple computers, gaming consoles, and gaming devices and allows them to connect to the internet, but only if they are capable of using wireless. Wireless LAN is achieved by using a wireless router. LAN stands for Local Area Network.
a modem is a transfer adapter, your ISP, puts in that connects your computer the internet.
Computer > Network Adapter > Router > ISP > Internet
When an ISP provides internet service, it provides one publicly routed IP address. Assigning a private IP address to each device in the home or office prevents one device from interfering with Internet access of other devices on the LAN. It also provides greater security for each device. Public address space is conserved

I think you mean "gateway." The default gateway of any network is the device that connects the network to another network (for example the router in your home connects your Local Area Network (LAN) to the internet (a Wide Area Network). The IP address is typically signified by a 1 as the last octet (e.g. for a typical home network it would be 192.168.0.1) while all other devices on the network will have a 100+ value.
