a repeater
Simple answer is... You can't unless you use ethernet cable scousegitt
There is not a cable that can extend the range of a wireless mouse.
The Ethernet port is usually the largest socket on the computer (about twice the height of the others). You run your Ethernet cable from the computers Ethernet socket to a similar socket on a device called a Router. The Router is connected to your telephone line or cable TV or however you have chosen to connect to the Internet. You will need to have set up an account and pay for the Internet connection with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) who is often your telephone or cable TV supplier. The ISP will often include the Router as part of the connection package. Computers (particularly laptops) will usually have built-in wireless connectivity, for example all recent Macs come with AirPort, which will connect to a wireless router without the need for a an Ethernet cable. This means that a laptop can be used anywhere within the range of the router. the ethernet cable connects you to lan
cable, and the rounter --Like Man-- 802.11 is wireless so the cable has nothing to do with the transmission range. Some factors that do dictate the transmission range are the placement of the wireless device giving a signal and also the distance of the wireless device to your device.
UTP cable is limited to 100 metre runs for 100 Mbit Ethernet, for higher speeds, the distance is less.
A standard wireless router can only physically connect to four Ethernet enabled devices through the Ethernet ports. To extend a wireless home network, a bridge is needed. A bridge is a device that will connect devices such as gaming consoles and TVs to the existing wireless internet network that is enabled by a router. Additionally, a bridge will also extend the range of a home network, allowing for better reception to other computers and devices that are already connected to the network through wireless adapters.
You can buy a router and 4 ethernet cables if the PCs do not have WiFi or a WiFi router and however many ethernet cables that you need would be a better solution and would also give you a WiFi capability for other devices. Routers can cost from a wide range and are often sold at below retail prices and the same for ethernet cables. While you could spend over $200 it is possible to be under $50 depending on the type of router and the brand and length of the ethernet cables
If you already have an Airport Extreme Base Station and your Express is used simply to either extend your network range or to use the AirTunes function, then yes you may plug directly to the Express to connect to the internet although the purpose of the Express is to be able to access the internet wirelessly. However, if you do not have an Airport Extreme Base Station and are using only the Express to connect to the internet, then you may not connect to the internet by using an Ethernet cable and plugging into the Express. This is because if you are using the Express to connect the internet, the ethernet plug will need to be plugged into your modem.
The frequency range used by Bluetooth 802.11b and 802.11g is 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz. The device should have a color code label to correspond with the Ethernet support.
PATCH CABLE Patch cables provide a short-range connection, while longer Ethernet cables (usually Category 5, Category 5e, or Category 6) are used to connect to a hub up to 100 meters away.
You need a Cat5 cable. This cable is in the Ethernet family. You get a short one that comes with the Xbox in the box. Although it is relatively small, it is usable. You could just go out and buy a longer one, or a wireless adapter which last time I looked it was in the 100 dollar range from Wal-Mart.
It's wireless network booster or extender. It costs almost as much as a wireless router.
