Fancy diamonds are usually the natural coloured stones, the most familiar being the fancy yellow diamond. Other fancy colours include natural blue, pink and the more rare colours, red and green.
Yes, diamonds are formed from carbon.
Fancies was created in 1991.
Diamonds, per se, can be considered natural resources.
Yes, diamonds made in laboratories are considered real because they have the same chemical and physical properties as natural diamonds. They are made using processes that mimic the natural conditions in which diamonds are formed in the Earth's mantle.
That is what they are. Diamonds are formed in the ground under pressure. It is made of carbon.
Probably not. In the ancient world, diamonds were not considered valuable as they are today. Pearls were the most valuable followed closely by emeralds.Probably not. 'Fancy' is a term used to modify the colour of a diamond, which is not white. Fancy applies to all coloured diamonds, the most common of which is fancy yellow. Be aware, however, that naturally fancy coloured stones are more rare than other diamonds. There are some applications of 'treatments' which can highlight a stone's colour, and sometimes these treated stones are sold as fancy coloured diamonds. Any treated diamond which enhances its colour should be labeled as 'treated', and will cost much less than a naturally fancy coloured diamond. A certified gemologist will help you determine how a fancy diamond obtained its colour. You can read more about fancy colour diamonds, below.
Nope. Black diamonds are very valuable (and very beautiful in my opinion!) but it's red colored diamonds that are considered the rarest and the most valuable.
No, diamonds are not considered organic because they are formed from inorganic carbon material under high pressure and temperature deep within the Earth's mantle.
Diamonds are formed deep within the earth's mantle, and are thus considered a natural resource.
Diamonds are formed from carbon. Any other mineral present is considered an impurity.
