well basically yh he Asked for a child and god made an agreement but then he thought that if he is to old how can he have a child so god still gave Abraham a child because he still had faith in god.

He agreed to kill his son Issac, but it was just a test and he did not actually kill him.

Before this, Abraham made a covenant with God to leave his land and travel to Caanan? After which, he made another agreement that if he recognised God, he would be blessed with many children and that his family would inherit the lands.
