Chinese people are just like everybody else. They write on paper.

However, in ancient times before paper was invented, they used to write on bamboo strips. Coincidentally, it was they who invented paper later in ~AD 105.

its on oracle bones, then they began writing in 1500 BC they also wrote on strips of bamboo and silk cloth in about 800 BC.

they invented paper, by pounding bark, linnen and old fish nets to make a paste to spread out and dry like paper!

Before bamboo scrolls, they wrote on bamboo strips. Before bamboo strips, they wrote on wooden strips, silk or other materials, that was all before the invention of paper in China.
