Jackson did not approve of the Bank of the US in which federal funds had to be deposited. The bank made personal loans to wealthy people that were known to the bank and made low interest loans to Congressmen who were against Jackson. Jackson vetoed a bill to renew its charter, and he supported the factions of hard and soft money which also did not approve of the bank. Federal funds went to state banks after the national bank's charter expired.
