Franklin was a very smart man. His father, though, took him out of school at the age of 7 years old and put him with a candle maker as an apprentice. He loved to read and would hide books from his father and invent things. All of his life he invented things and was very creative which helped him when he became a printer and would write for his brother's newspaper. He published several books in his life, was a delegate to the constitutional convention and helped edit the Declaration of Independence.
